Transfering To Phoenix55

Inform Your Current Agency - You must inform your current agency of your intention to transfer. This is a professional courtesy and a regulatory requirement.

Statutory Checks - We will need to carry out new statutory checks, which will include:

  • Local Authority checks

  • References

  • Previous partner references

  • Education references

  • Enhanced DBS checks

  • Adult health report

  • Pet assessments

  • Health and Safety inspection

Even if your previous agency did all of this, we are legally responsible for your approval going forward.

Approval - Once your assessment is completed and Form F has been updated you will go to our independent panel, where they will make a recommendation for approval and then our independent decision maker will give the final approval. Once approved, you will be officially registered with Phoenix55 Fostering Service and can begin the next step chapter of your fostering journey

Form F - You do not need a new Form F; instead of doing a full assessment, we will update your current Form F to reflect any changes since it was completed (training, experience, household, etc). So, make sure you have your Form F from your current agency. If you do not have a copy, you are entitled to it and within your rights to request a copy.

Transfer Protocol Meeting - If you have a child currently in placement, a transfer protocol meeting will be arranged. This is a multi agency meeting involving:

  • Your current agency

  • Phoenix55 Fostering Service

  • The placing Local Authority

  • You

  • The child's Independent Reviewing Office (IRO)
